Serve Our Soldiers
The Serve Our Soldiers ministry, aka SOS, was created to support members of the South Plains church family in the military. As the years have gone by, this ministry has been able to grow to support any soldier names that are given to us as long as we have an address. We want to send Christian love and support to our brothers and sisters serving in the military, as well as to those that are unfamiliar with God’s love.
What's in the box?
We strive to send our soldiers items of Christian encouragement like CDs, DVDs, books, etc. to remind them to whom they belong (or could belong). We also like to send something to remind them of home, such as locally made snacks and beef jerky made in Texas. And we try to always send a “wholesome” game or toy for clean entertainment. Our boxes always have a theme, which our soldiers love! We send high protein food items for when our soldiers miss meals, and water additives to help fight dehydration. We do our best to spoil our soldiers!
Get Involved
If you have a soldier that should be receiving these boxes, email their name and current address to Kathryn Rainwater.
We meet every six to eight weeks to pack boxes, usually on Wednesday evenings during class time. Emails are sent out with packing information to those interested in helping.
